Roger Dubuis Releases New Excalibur Quatuor and Spider Skeleton at SIHH 2017

Excalibur, the iconic and deliberately extravagant Roger Dubuis collection – with its signature blend of technical mastery and powerful design – is set to rock the watchmaking world as never before at SIHH 2017. And like any upcoming quake, premonitory tremors are rippling across the landscape. Here is a sneak peek at two of them.

EXCALIBUR QUATUOR COBALT MICROMELT

When it comes to progressive complications, the hand-wound 590-part RD101 Quatuor movement — beating at a frequency of 16 Hz (115,200 vph) with its four sprung balances and five differentials — is as progressive as they get. Outstandingly fast and efficient, it achieves instantaneously what the tourbillon takes a full minute to accomplish: namely, compensating for the rate variations caused by the effects of gravity on a watch. Auto Exotic: Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Italdesign Limited Edition

At SIHH 2017, Roger Dubuis announced its partnership with renowned Italian tiremaker Pirelli, introducing a special timepiece to kick off the collaboration. This month, at the Geneva International Motor Show, the brand launches another partnership, with another Italian automotive-industry player, bringing out another limited-edition watch. The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Italdesign Edition, limited to just eight pieces worldwide, will be released alongside the “Italdesign Automobili Special,” an ultra-limited series customizable car from Moncalieri, Italy-based Italdesign, a renowned producer of cutting-edge prototype show cars. read more
